'96 TV TS
On 20 March 1996 (season 3, show #121), as the Ed Sullivan Theater was being renovated, Dave hosted his show from the lobby with only 60 folding chairs set up for the audience. Dave told Ray Charles, "I don't know how to break it to you, but you're in the lobby." Ray and his Raelettes, accompanied by Paul Schaffer's houseband, performed a rocking version of Everybody's Handsome Child. A 6-minute sequence of the 1996 episode has survived.
