Doot Doot Dow (With Orchestra)

First recorded on The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, in early 1969. Ray Charles on alto saxophone, accompanied by the Nelson Riddle Orchestra:


He played it again in early October of that year at one of his concerts in Paris, at La Salle Pleyel, where it was taped by French television.

The tune was written by Buddy Johnson. A sample of the Johnson 78 rpm single is here. A rare version by Mitch Litman is on YouTube - go there to read the story on how it was found:
